Since 2021, the artistic director of the Frauchi Competition and Festival is Dimitri Illarionov, one of the most recognized guitarists in Russia.
Illarionov, one of the most prominent students and follower of the performing and educational tradition of Alexander Frauchi, has been a member of the Organizing Committee of the Competition and Festival and a member of the Competition Jury for many years.
“The most important task in 2025 is to restore the tradition of big, multi-cultured international festivals, and make the Frauchi Competition one of the most prestigious world guitar competitions,” says Dimitri Illarionov.
The 2025 FRAUCHI Festival features leading international guitarists and special guests playing other instruments.
